Is Personal Training right for me?
Do you have a fitness or athletic goal that you’d like to achieve, but you’re not sure about the best way to get there? Maybe you’ve been plateauing or stagnating in your results, and you aren’t sure why. Or perhaps you just need that extra accountability and support from a coach in order to follow through on your exercise routine.
Whether you’re planning an expedition to climb and ski a big mountain, looking to maintain muscle mass and strength as you age, or hoping to shed 20 pounds and feel good about your body, personal training is the best way to get there. By working with a personal trainer, you’ll receive customized guidance and workout programming that’s structured specifically to help you reach your goal over a certain timeframe.
You’ll also have access to a fitness professional who can answer all of your questions, correct your exercise form, keep you consistent with your exercise, help you overcome a busy schedule and other life obstacles, and maximize your time spent working out. By committing to working with a trained professional, you’ll be taking a concrete and worthwhile step towards converting your fitness hopes & dreams into reality.
Who will I be training with?
Iain is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and Certified Functional Strength Coach offering fitness coaching at our Jackson location through one-on-one personalized sessions. By working one-on-one, Iain ensures that your sessions will be specifically tailored to your needs and abilities, as opposed to the random or generalized workouts of a group class or online program. Iain specializes in mountain endurance athletes, but also loves working with weight loss clients, strength focused clients, and general health & fitness clients.
Iain has spent the past five years training year-round as a mountain athlete, pursuing objectives both at home in the Tetons and abroad. He has skied from the top of the Grand Teton (twice), Mount Rainier, and Denali, and summitted 6,000+ meter peaks in the Himalaya. He loves skiing, hiking, running, and climbing, and knows what it takes to accomplish long-term goals, as well as the aches and pains of constant physical activity. Services and Pricing:
Personal Training Assessment (30 minutes)
We’ll use this initial 30-minute assessment to go over your exercise history, any injury history, and your goals for training. We’ll also assess your posture, movement mechanics, and current fitness level in order to create a custom training program just for you! This assessment is free when you book at least one subsequent personal training session.
1-on-1 Personal Training Session (60 minutes)
A one-on-one personal training session for 60 minutes in the gym! Iain will carefully plan your training sessions to help you achieve the specific goals discussed during your initial assessment (whether it’s climbing a big mountain, building strength, or losing weight), as well as to improve your overall health and wellness and correct any postural distortions, movement impairments, or muscle imbalances. Feel free to show up 5-10 minutes early to get warmed up and maximize your session with Iain.
Customized Training Plans
Reaching your fitness or athletic goals may require more than working hard in the gym 2-3 times a week (though that will certainly help!). If you’re committed to making your dreams a reality and want to train on your own time, need to engage in sport-specific exercise modalities to reach your goal, or simply prefer the outdoors to the gym, Iain will write you a customized training plan tailored to your specific goals. With years of experience training for successful big mountain objectives and working with his own coach, Iain knows the value of a systematic and progressive approach to structured training, and how to set you up for success.
