TREATMENTS

The word chiropractic means “Done by hand.” We do hands-on non-invasive treatment for musculoskeletal issues and nerve entrapment. As sports chiropractors, our treatment goes far beyond the simple chiropractic adjustment, working into the muscles, fascia, ligaments and tendons that are affected. Our goal is to find out why it hurts, not just to treat what hurts.

Tune-up: 15 min. Chiropractic (no superbill)

  • Our quick “Tune-up” visit gives you a solid 15 minutes with the chiropractor. 15 minutes is the time required to thoroughly work one area of complaint and adjust full-spine, if desired.

  • This appointment is intended for those on a wellness program, those just feeling the need for a “tune-up” or those needing a quick fix. If you’re on an active treatment plan or desire a Superbill for insurance reimbursement purposes, please book our Hybrid: Chiropractic and Rehab appointment. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call prior to booking.

exercises and stretches
Exercises & Stretches

You probably won’t make it out of our office without some homework. We want you to understand what is causing your pain (we love explaining anatomy) and how you can continue to aid your recovery. We teach exercises and stretches that will help you heal as well as what you can do to avoid future injury.

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

This therapy uses stainless steel instruments to provide an optimal environment for healing, by either modifying physiologic responses to injury (e.g., inflammation, muscle spasms, pain) or enhancing components of normal musculoskeletal function (e.g., increase range of motion, increased muscular strength).

nutritional recommendations
Nutritional Recommendations

We look at how simple dietary changes can reduce your body’s inflammation, aid healing processes, as well as help with energy levels and hormone balance. We have select supplements in stock as well, the ones we ourselves take and feel good about recommending.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN YOUR CHIROPRACTIC VISIT

functional movement
Functional Movement Analysis

We direct you through various ranges of motion and movement patterns, carefully observing and noting motion dysfunction and asymmetry. This helps us accurately diagnose and treat your ailments. It also allows us to prescribe exercises to enhance your care and to prevent further injury.

active release techniques
Active Release Techniques

This is a movement-based technique to release muscle knots and other adhesions or constrictions in soft tissue. Compared to a passive technique like massage, the active nature engages your brain to enhance neuromuscular communication and control.

chiropractic adjustments
Chiropractic Adjustments

Simply put, adjusting is mobilizing a joint and putting it into the correct biomechanical position so that the joint can function properly. We use Diversified Technique, Flexion-Distraction and a drop table and use an activator as needed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

cupping therapy
Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. It is used for many healing purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

EMS
Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

EMS units run a light electrical current through the treatment area, stimulating the production of enkephalins and endorphins, naturally occurring substances that can dramatically reduce pain. This also increases blood flow to the area, alleviating tissue hypoxia, and can help relax chronically tight musculature and reduce muscle spasm.

dry needling

Dry needling uses a thin filiform needed inserted through the skin into soft tissue. It is based on anatomy in terms of needle location and physiology in terms of the body’s response to the needles. Dry needling is a specific effective medical treatment to restore function and mobility in a variety of musculoskeletal issues, reduce scar tissue, and decrease pain.

Rocktape
RockTape and Functional Movement Techniques

Kinesiology tape is used by medical professionals throughout the world to treat injuries and improve sports performance. RockTape turns down the volume on pain by providing a proprioceptive input that interferes with pain signals direct to the brain. It decompresses areas of swelling and inflammation via a microscopic lifting effect underneath the skin and between the many layers that allows the by-products created by inflammation to be removed more quickly. In addition, RockTape delays muscle fatigue during activity and helps distribute physical stress allowing the injured area to take less of the brunt. It can be used to treat sports and non-sports injuries, including shin splints, plantar fasciitis, runner’s knees pain and back pain.

The RockTape Functional Movement Techniques (FMT) certification is based on the concept of muscles acting as a chain; it addresses applications for pain, posture, edema, scars and neurological symptoms with an emphasis on myofascial pathways, movement therapy and performance enhancement.

REHAB ONLY

Interested in going over your rehab homework in a supervised environment? Have questions about a glute that won’t fire, an area of weakness, or how to combat your incredibly tight hamstrings? Notice yourself getting way too quad dominant on the slopes? Want to master new rehab exercises and/or mobility-based movements, but can’t spend an hour with a trainer? Squat or deadlift form need some work? Then this appointment type is for you!

Rehab only visits may be used in our Chiropractic treatment plans when a regular chiropractic visit is not necessary. They can also be used when a doctor is sick in lieu of cancelling their entire patient load.

Rehab-only: 15 & 30 min. (no superbill)

This appointment gives you the allotted time to work one-on-one with our rehab specialists + an email summarizing what you worked on (usually around 3-4 items). Patients should be on an active treatment plan or have been through a new patient exam with our chiropractic team prior to booking a rehab only appointment. The rehab specialist may perform some passive modalities under the recommendations of the doctor.
